The Fountain of Youth

A local legend has it that Ponce De Leon allegedly searched for this freshwater spring in 1513, but failed to find it. (He discovered Florida instead.) The "fountain" is a small pool which lies forgotten by the side of the road near the airport in South Bimini. A marker indicates the location.

The Compleat Angler Hotel Bar and Museum

This former hangout of Ernest Hemingway features a display of his photographs and writings from the period 1935-1937. The famous writer stayed here frequently.

Farther to the north, away from the bustle of Alice Town are the tranquil settlements of Baily Town, Porgy Bay and Paradise Point with their soft, wide white sand beaches and incredibly azure waters.
