Dillet's Guest House

This is what memories are made of

A visit here is a wonderful experience. A warm welcome, nice rooms, good food, and the owners are just the most wonderful people. They could not be more helpful. Wish we could have stayed longer.

Fantastic

Really to be trated as a place to stay for a weekend or as an overnight stop. This is a small but very friendly property. The staff are very attentive. It seems that most rooms have kitchen facilites and those don't I believe you can use the main kitchen downstairs. Although this is not nesscary because if you give notice in the morning a fabulous meal can be preapered for you.All in all a charming place to stay.

I had an overall wonderful experience staying at Dillet's Guest House. The warmth shown by the owners and the attentiveness displayed by the hired help was memorable. The personal touches and the custom breakfasts set a benchmark for bed and breakfasts. The dwelling itself is impeccable in island decor and is filled with customized art work (the artist is a relative of the owners) with the studio conveniently located next door to the property. It has a beautiful landscaped garden and wading pool. As a man, I felt safe walking alone in the area after dark but I would not recommend that for most individuals. The location of the guest house is conveniently situated within reasonable driving distance from beaches, a mall, a botanical garden, casino and downtown.

Despite receiving a wonderful home cooked Bahamian style meal that I felt was not commensurate with the amount charged, I nonetheless still had an excellent time during my three night stay. As a travel professional, I would rate Dillet's Guest House as one of the better Bed and Breakfasts around. For those wanting to take the road less traveled and get away from the typical resort and beach front property to partake in the Bahamian family experience, Dillet's is definitely the place for you. For those not wanting to get off the beaten path or would opt to lounge around the pool and drink frozen concoctions ordered from a swim-up bar, I suggest you look elsewhere or otherwise expect to be disappointed. I would not recommend this for someone who has never experienced island travel. If you want to just get away to a secluded atmosphere and experience old world Bahamian charm, sit back, relax and enjoy the experience of a lifetime at Dillet's Guest House.
