Holiday Inn Nassau
A friend and I decided that we were going to book a last minute vacation to go "somewhere warm" and we stumbled upon this "great" deal for Nassau.Instead of being long winded I will give a brief rundown of the bad and good (if any) points... Bad- Dirty carpets (made soles of feet black when walked on barefoot), TV remote didn't work, hot tub was cold, blood stained pillow cases and sheets, the beach across the street was very rocky, overall a run down hotel. Good- Friendly staff, taxi drivers always outside hotel to wisk you away to wherever you want to go, walking distance from downtown. If you are a lady traveling here without any male companionship expect to be sexually harassed by the locals (not service industry staff). Tip- Paradise Island is beautiful, if I knew how much nicer it was then Nassau I would have stayed there. (check out Sea Island Adventures, it makes a fun, affordable, relaxing day!)
We stayed at the Holiday Inn, Nassau Jan 2002. We liked the old part of the hotel but the new part had a much lower standard. You shoudn't pay more than $79/night for this hotel. It was great to see the cruiseships from your room. The staff was friendly and slow. I suggest that you rent a car from Budget (located in the other Holiday Inn $45/day) and see the hole of the New Providence Island. From this hotel you can walk to downtown Nassau and all it's attractions. Best beach is on Paradise Island. And best of all it's a 2 min walk to McDonald's. |
