Underrated Aruba

I think Aruba has been underrated according to some of the past comments. True, the landscape of the island doesn't have much to offer, it's an arid, desert island, not lush and mountainous like Jamaica. However, one who plans to vacation in Aruba should know this.

But, the beaches in Aruba are some of the best in the Caribbean, and the islands wealth is reflected in its cleanliness and abundance of jobs. It's probably one of the cleanest islands I a have ever been.

The people are also some of the friendliest people in the Caribbean and they speak up to 4 languages. I found the capital of Oranjestad very pretty and clean. Keep in mind Aruba is a destination where you sit on the beach, soak up the sun, swim and do some water sports and do a little gambling and shopping. If you want rainforests or like to visit historic forts, then try some other islands, like Jamaica or St. Kitts, but at least in Aruba you don't see poverty or confront beggars. Aruba IS the happy island.
